I bet he's factoring in the AHFS being in play. If you look back to the last year it was used at Indy, the bumps aren't nearly as tough as they are when it's off.

2021:
Stock = -.536
SS = -.350

I predict, with AHFS in play, easier to get in the field.

After Bobby's breakdown I will agree with that by far.

.645 Stk to make the 128 car field. Edited after I saw both Ron and Brent in the reg. window now. Both are capable of sprouting wings and flying. Hope they both face off 1 and done again in class. (Though Brent is registered currently in DF/S), or both end up in a face off late rounds of the combo. (Both of those cars should be sponsored by Red Bull!)

Go get those fast cars guys! You both have the cars to show them what the FWD ranks can do! Congrats Ron on grabbing a spot...I only saw Brent in the list last week. But I just saw that bright yellow entry in it a few mins ago.

A stop watch and a Slow car capable of going waaasy under -1.30 under and they should both be able to just Qualify just under it. ( or rather just over the danger zone), though both are carrying so much less weight than the rest of us thst fit the DF/S natural class that they both could suffer a 5hp hit and still be pretty dang fast for the class and still be lighter w/an addl.125lbs added later.

So, they could hike up their own or the whole class and not get hurt too bad if they let it fly a bit under that 1.30 under danger zone and make things tough on the whole field.

One can imagine a whole host of possibilities. I didn't say do that, am saying possibilities exist.

Hey, it is the "BIG GO!"...only so many of those come around in a lifetime, and if you are lucky enough to attend and compete, and are competitive, you should do everything you can legally do to win both the short guy and the bit taller guy! Just sayin'!
