Ed -- The very last thing I'd want to do today is to defend the NHRA's latest price hike but the part I'm really surprised about is that they didn't do it last Summer when everyone was paying $5.05 for diesel fuel.As many of the readers here are self-employed they know that all business costs have risen during the last year-- recently I was notified by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Revenue thay my dealers license and my salesmans licenses are going up almost double -- is that going to make me close -- probably not .

...this is just the beginning of the inflation that's going to hit us because of the government borrowing beyond our means and printing money out of thin air. Instead of cutting back, they're full steam ahead on spend-spend-spend.... and to try to keep within shouting distance of their rampant spending, they raise Jack's business costs, so Jack raises his costs to the customer, then the customer (a business owner himself) charges more for *his* goods and services.

NHRA can choke on the 'extra' money. I have plenty of choices on where to race. I voted with my feet years ago, stuck my toe back in the murky water last summer, and have now remembered why I dropped my membership in the first place. Just another chapter in their, "How to make friends and influence people" book.
