Yes I can hear my Ford 6.0 at idle, but on the road you do not hear the motor.
My F350 4x4 with 4:10's and open car trailer average 13 to 15 mpg on the road.
but that is only one car.

At least at the present time, diesel is cheaper than regular 87 gas by .10 to .25 per gallon.
