It depend on what class you're running. Since I use the "441" casting SBC head i'm limited on how big my valve spring pocket can be cut for the 1.64 spring without hitting a water jacket, so I use the 1.55 spring and yes you get only 10-15 runs out of a set, and it could go either way depend on how high you rev your motor.
