Bob, you need lower RPM torque for towing. A diesel would be better. I wouldn't recommend a new one. New EPA regs call for the particulate filters since 2007 which kill you when towing. They keep going into "re-gen" mode to clean that filter. Mileage drops like a rock in that mode. I would look for a nice 2006 model, or if you can find an early 2007 without that filter. Best towing mileage. I have friends that traded older models in for new ones and are sick they did.
