Bracket dragsters were mostly 8 second cars and very few ran much better than 160....
So if you went 168 in 1991 in a dragster that was a pretty fast car for the era

Very true......A lot were only 158-160 or so. It was really in 1992. The car now has a 4 link and runs a new 632 alum block and runs 7.40's. Money brackets only. OK....he is nuts ! LOL It had a 496 inch and a 532 from time to time back then with GOOD heads that I did for it at the time on alcohol and a Rupert carb. I think he only ran it as a S/C which was really in IHRA Q/R (still a 8.90 car) once in 1992. . 99.9 % of the time it was a bracket car at Colonial Beach, MIR, and down south at the 1/8 mile tracks. eaiser on parts. I made a 1/2 pass and then one full pass and that was it back then. I prefer a roof and doors....LOL. First and only time I ever used a delay box and was I ever LATE (about a second) . I was use to leaving on the bottom bulb and not the top bulb so guess which I left on. . I still catch hell over that. Thats how I got away with it without having a license, etc. Never again.
