Jeff, the problem with not cutting the springs is the front end of the car sits nosed up, a lot. I cut mine to get the ride height I wanted and never had any troubles. It had great 60' times (low 1.50's) and did big wheelies for a "N" car. C4 with a 2.92 low. 4.86 gear with Hoosier "short" radials.
I understand on the springs but if you want it right, you have to find a smaller wire diameter or maybe have some custom made (which is what I did; try finding AMC parts!). It is worth it.
