Beth,
I have known Alex and Tony for around 13 yrs, and I can truly say thay are the most fiercely competitive gentlemen that my son Brian and I have encountered in any venue.
I don't think you have to be concerned about his will to come back as strong as ever. I know he thinks the sun rises and sets in you and he needs for you to be strong and supportive (and sometime demanding) on his and your road to recovery. Tell the Commander to return to the bridge and take the wheel. God speed.
