11 cars were on the ladder for round 1 of the CIC race. Number 1 qualifier was a big '96 Caprice, which I believe is owned/driven by Mr. Campanello (apologies if not spelled correctly, or wrong name-the car is unlettered). #2 was Mike Ficacci in Anthony Bongiovani's H/SA Mustang.

I also want to publicly thank Lee, Brian, Bob, the starting line crew and the Dimino family for putting this race on. Every element within human control was executed very well: track prep, race control decisions, the food was good and the weather was fantastic as well.

X2 for me for the second paragaph of Tony's post. Got mixed feelings about the 40 or so who said they were coming and didn't. I made it to both events and sure hope there's more to come. To me, this is the future of good drag racing for us non-millionaires. I must apologize to Dave Ley for not making it to more of his races , something I hope to change soon .
