I believe NHRA charges $15,000.00 for the privledge plus you have to buy additional insurance from them for another $5000.00. Add in advertising/promotion and they are in a big hole before the gates open. Bad weather or low car count and it kills the track. That's why a lot of the smaller tracks (at least out West) won't hold divisionals any more.

Lucas and NHRA does provide some of the local promotion..TV ads, print media, with the package.
BTW , I never meant to criticize the host tracks for the specific payouts. They are certainly justified in trying to make a profit on this deal.
