Went to the Div 3 race in Columbus this weekend. Had a great time. Checked out the behind the scene work that the officials do and also visited with a few racers. Sorry but I didn't get any names, but you know who you are. From scales to the fuel check station and the staging lanes, all the officials were very helpful with all my questions. Having plans to build my 77 Starfire into a stocker, I took this chance to see what went on and also had some questions for the staff. The "stock guru" at the fuel check tent answered my questions and didn't make me feel like I was asking stupid questions and wasting his time. The team member running the scales was polite and answered questions I had and I stayed there a while, watching what went on after the racers made their passes. Also spoke with a member in the staging lanes about the pairings.Everyone was great.
As for the racers, they were great also, which they always are,

. I spoke with a gentleman with a SS/GT Monte Carlo who offered to shut his hood so I could get a good pic of his car. There was also the racer who had an accident in his 65 SS Nova. Glad he was ok,but the car needed some work.Spoke with him a while and even after his accident,we still talked for a while at his trailer. At the Johnson's SS/DA pit, I spoke with the father a while as he was looking for the cause of his engine problems. And there were many more times like this the racers were polite. Thanks to all!
As you can see I had a great time there and can't wait to join all of you at the track. I just now need to jump on my project and get out there. Thanks to all the racers and officials again. I will be back.
