Default Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

Some people have asked me for Directions to Numidia:

I MUST TELL YOU THIS 1ST, IF YOUR USING A STANDARD CAR GPS PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW IT. IT MAY TAKE YOU DOWN SOME NARROW AND SHARP TURN ROADS THAT A RIG & TRAILER MAY NOT MAKE!

This was the directions given on the Numidia Website:
Numidia Dragway is located off of Rt. 42 in Numidia, PA. It is a very rural area surrounded by rolling hills and farm land. If you are planning on using a GPS system use this address: 10 Dragstrip Road Catawissa, PA 17820. If you are towing a large trailer please call or email for the best route as the GPS may take you down some tiny country roads and covered bridges.

Here are a few other options:

From South Jersey, Delaware, Maryland
You can always take the 95 to the Blue Route then take the NE Extension to Route 80

Once on is Route 80 take it to exit 232 (Coming from the East or West doesn't matter) (This will bring you out to a Flying J Travel Center (East) or a shopping plaza (West) travel down Mall Blvd till you get to Route 11, your on Route 11 for like 1/8 mile then you get back on Route 42 and take that into Catiwissa. Now the town is small and the speed limit is like 25mph. Once you pass over the bridge (Susquehanna River) you will travel into town about a mile. On your right will be a restaurant named "Cracker Barrel"...not the one we are all used too! Make a slight right at that light should still be on 42. If you make a sharp right #1 you will never make the turn and will be going to wrong way...haha. Travel that for about a mile or 2 (Dollar General on Left), and you will come to a stop light at that time to start giving it gas as the hill that is in front of you, you will be going over. The road will split (42 and 487) KEEP LEFT (If you go right that will lead you to Knoebels). Keep on 42 over the hill and the track is about 5 miles on your left. You will see a little Blue sign on your Right (Numidia Dragway). Make the left turn up Dragstrip Road and track is on your left, enter in 1st gate.

Coming from Carlise / Western Maryland, W. Virgina

take 81 N to exit 116 for PA401
turn left onto PA901 W, follow 901W
turn right onto High Rd (Rte 4024)
turn left onto LaValle Rd
turn right onto PA54/Main St
turn left onto Centre St
Continue on PA61/Memorial Blvd
Continue to follow 61N
Continue onto Locust Avenue
Continue on PA 42N/S.Main St
turn right on Dragstrip Rd

If your coming from Albany, NY area take 87 to 84 then to 80 then exit 232 follow directions above..
From the Canada, Buffalo, Rochester area take 90 to 390 down to 99 and Williamsport then 180 into 80 to exit 232.

Hope this helps out a little bit, trying to prevent any accidents or anyone getting stuck. I heard a lot of horror stories last year about their GPS taking them the wrong way and the motorhomers barely making it up long hills..

I'm sure if anyone else has some easier tips to get there they can chime in. Jack and Katie Sepanek live very close to the track and may know a few shortcuts to get you there quicker!

Good Luck everyone at E-Town, I will be skipping this one!
