Re: Worst/Late or non paying contingency sponsors
The undisputed champion of the category is definitely our good friends at CSR. Until a few years ago, I had never been beaten out of money by any company. Then came bankruptcy filings from several different companies over a period of time and the losses started to pliƩ up. But I have to hand it to CSR, they're the only one that ever stuck it up my *** and didn't go under.
Now get me wrong, I collected a lot of money from them over the years, but I wound up getting screwed out of close to $2500. I called, emailed, offered to take product as trade, etc., but to no avail. Lindsey Wood, who handled the contingency aspect of things at the time, always seemed like a reasonably nice person. I changed my opinion one day when she finally called in regards to one of my many, many emails. She went off like a bomb, virtually screaming at me like a petulant little child, and then hung up the phone before I could even say a word. No joke...
My rig is sitting with the Emmons' in Houston right now while I sit at home in Churchville. The forecast at Houston scared me off, so I considered going to Valdosta. That is until it occurred to me who the owners of the track are. The thought of writing them a check for $350 to roll through the gates when they beat me out of $2500 and acted as they did throughout the screwing process instantly put the brakes on that plan.
I will never do anything to financially support CSR or anyone associated with them.
