Re: Live from Englishtown,NJ - NHRA Summernationals
Good morning -- Welcome to day 1 of the Summernationals . Really ?? It feels more like the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic in October than Summer in New Jersey .High forties last night with a breeze and now its barely fifty out and all cloud covered .The weather people are calling for a high in the mid-sixties today .
Good news? First of all we get to sleep in at this race - no early starts here - first cars won't go down the track till 10:15 because of local regulations .
Enough of the weather - lets talk about the full pits .Holy cow - I know I wasn't the first one here but I'm so close to the back gate that if I was any closer I'd be out in the street .This place is full - I mean really full .Not sure if its bigger rigs - more entries or the Pro's taking up pit parking .I might have to refuel on the way to the starting line .Yeah I know - bitch , bitch , bitch and moan .But then I've been coming here so long I remember racing here at the Summernats when you got a Sunday time trial .
Ken and I will be back a little later with facts and photos ...........
PS - A needy person I know could use a pair of single day passes if anyone has any - thanks .
