OK I am not building a "Dime Rocket" but could not spend thousands on a paint job for my 65 Impala I am building for I/SA I have done paint jobs using 2 Stage Base coat/ clear coat but for the 65 I want to paint Silver base coat then apply graphics/striping in Candy Apple REd (over the silver) I think this is the order I need to do:
1) base coat of silver 2) coat of clear over that 3) mask the silver areas and scuff up painting areas 4) 1 coat of clear (to sort of seal up mask area to stop any Candy Red bleed through) 5) scuff again then Paint Candy Red 6) remove mask then clear coat everthing. Please no "call this guy he can do a good job and only $10,000" BUT any input would be appreciated! Will Lamprecht 65 Impala in progress. Div 1 I/SA |
