the way I read the rule is if using a stock tank you are only allowed 2 MODIFICATIONS to the tank you can RESIZE the fuel line & the pickup--- it says nothing about sump areas in a stock tank being allowed that I would consider a modification--- NO OTHER MODS ALLOWED--- now if you use a fuel cell many times a sump area will be molded in as part of the design so you will be OK and in addition you must fabricate a metal barrier between the cell and the passenger area---my take on it-- FED387

On a car where the factory gas tank is the trunk floor, do they require you to install a metal barrier?
