The first COPO’s came with the CTS-VR lifters made for higher RPM. Then 2nd and 3ed year cars use the Johnson lifters. Both are hydraulic. I could be wrong but don’t think the 17 or 18’s come from the Factory with a solid lifters... I could be wrong on the new setups.

If you are looking for a good cheep LS lifter the Stock LS7’s are hard to beat for the price. I would be shocked if you can find only 12 just buy 16 and call it a day.

The op has already stated he only wants to buy 12, not 16...as for as CHEEP, now you maybe onto something.....LOL.
