Tom, he asked about the LT1, which uses a single coil.

Evidently your same Tuner was more familiar with the Holley system. There is absolutely one system will make more power, anyplace, than the other system. That would be a reflection on the Tuner. If both systems were not run on the same car, same dyno, you can't know anyway.
Spark advance is spark advance, air/fuel is air/fuel. The engine does not care how it got there. I have tuned enough vehicles with both systems to know that. The 8 coil deal with LS based engines looks easier with the Holley. Nothing else.
