so heres the deal,, i had the same issue , there is an oring on the pick up tube going into the pump,,, when its cold its sucking air through the oring and not enough oil ,, when it warms up the pressure is good (oring expands ) ,, its not an easy job to tackle

pull the front cover, pull the pump and change out the oring,the pick up tube stays in the pan , i put in a mellings high volume pump in for good measure,this can be done with out dropping the pan
