After talking to cam manufacture (independent) and Trend I believe camshaft was not heat treated correctly. But it bothers me not nothing the reason for failure.
Both parties naturally denied being at fault, but lean towards improper heat treatment on cam. Still trying to learn.

Anybody notice any performance increase running solid lifter vs short travel hyd lifter??
Do the big cam co’s still offer optional camshaft treatments/coatings on cast cams and is it worthwhile??
