It may be because I've been hanging around Billy for too long, but if you aren't set on going fast, the 2bbl 318 doesn't look all that bad at 185hp. Would probably be quite a bit cheaper to get going, and less chance of a heads up run. I am fond of the 318 Thermoquad @ 230 HP.
I have run it pretty fast in both stock and SS on a budget.
