Default SS pistons

getting back racing...early eightys i ran a duffys style, 2 ring piston, forging from JE i believe. 250;327 auto combo. low number of runs on them, very well machined, weight is basicly the same as todays style. 7500 rpm back then. question is will they survive in todays 8000+ rpm racing...gas ports and skirt coating could be added to them. would be used to sort out the new 2900lb. GT car till i could afford some new units. any advice would help, tks.
