Jack,
Totally different deals between the Corvette and the GTO. You have that wonderful traction arm. Thanks for the personal advice but I seem to have made it this far without your help. You aren't having fun? Maybe you are taking this too seriously? I'm having a blast.

Chuck,
You are lost but that's OK. We'll discuss those issues on another thread.

Kenny,
Thanks for your patience. You have to be the best administrator and all around good guy on the planet.

Jack,
Misssed part of your last post. Please look this thread over. The majority of posters are concerned about these new cars. There is only a handful of guys who are buzz'n this thread. Guys like you who have nothing invested in AA or A. You're just out here hang'n around and having some fun. No skin off your butt if the Cobra Jet dominates a class that it probably does not belong in. And oh by the way there are several people in nhra tech who happen to agree with my position. You, being an old nhra guy, should know that.

Bruce, I did not mean to make light of this subject, because it is an important one. I did feel the need to respond to bsa633. There are many that like to throw the words "paper cars" around. We all work hard on our combo's and a large amount of cars that race today have been given some kind of concession. Meaning the stuff they run on their car may not have be a factory produced item. I guess it comes down what you feel is okay and what crosses the line. Like Jack said, we need to have fun, there are to many bad things that happen is the world, racing is not one of them.

The CJ's are an explosive issue, but only time will tell what they are capable of. I know I will have my work cut out for me and I probably will not be able to run with them when they get it right. I have never been the fastest car in my class anyway, so its not much of a change for me.

Thanks for the complements on my administrating duties, but I'm sure there are some that have a different opinion of me. Patience is a must when administrating a forum like this.

Kenny,
I did not think you were making light of this issue. We've been through a lot with this one. I think it has gone very well considering it's size. Some wandering will always happen. Guilty of that myself.

Kenny, I too think you do a good job administrating this site.

As for your car not being the fastest! I'm not sure, maybe not the fastest but one fast car and very competitive! I wanted to see it race at Indy this past year.

You are right though about not being competitive when this particular car gets it sh**t right! Everyone; when it comes to class racing, wants the chance to be competitive if they (work hard) and I just dont think any of the upper class cars will be for a long time!! Just my opinion!

Time will tell

I'm not sure if SS/JA's post about a pass of 8.90s at more than 150 MPH for the Cobra Jet was from todays test session in Arizona. I was told a couple of the Cobra Jets were going to test today in Arizona today. We'll wait'n see.

Jack,
You got that wrong. That is not how "our" system works. The vehicles are supposedly classified in a fair and honest manner to begin with and then nhra should make adjustments as necessary. These cars have been grossly under factored and once they run in the AA or A class that is where they will stay. Did you see SS/JA's post?

X Tech Man said, "Patience is a MUST when racing a 428 CJ FORD.......lol. Just kidding Kenny."

Look at the blueprint specs, X-Tech Man...

Calling Kenny's car a "Cobra Jet" is like calling an SR-71 Blackbird a Piper Cub...

jeesh... read the specs and tell me what you think. Additionally, I'm sure you know that Cobra Jets weren't in existence, yet, in 1967.

Kenny's car is a '67 GT500. If anybody is well-prepared to do battle with these new, blown, "Cobra Jets," it's Kenny... and, you know what? I hope he gets it done; how ironic would that be????

Hee hee.....

Red face Re: Factory experimental

Bruce -- Yes, I saw the post about 8.90 @150 and I'm at the Ford dealer now ordering one but they won't equip it with E-shift .....damm . And I not a fan of white...........but they said a torque arm could be put on after the letter from Carroll shows up .

Point is that NHRA relies on the manufacturer horsepower figures to classify cars -- how else would they do it ? Guessing would also not be fair........put yourself on the other side of the fence for a moment .
