Default Re: Where have all the contingencies gone??? WOW!!!

I am not an attorney, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. (plus I've seen every episode of Law & Order)

Companies that have already posted for '09 with N/IHRA probably would have to ride out this season with them. But, that wouldn't prevent them from posting on this site and letting racers know their intentions. The current economic state has probably forced some to not participate in the contingency programs with the sanctioning bodies. Especially the rip-off version in 'N'. And there may be a connection between their advertising rates in ND if not part of the contingency program.

Bottom line, contingencies are rewards for advertising a product. Which every decal on every racecar does even if it's not in the winner's circle. That is something every manufacturer should consider. Unhappy racers removing decals hurts their exposure with the very consumers they're trying to reach. Having their own section on this site would be the cheapest advertising they're ever going to find.

This is just one example. Based on feedback from racer's on this site(admittedly a small sampling) I would not buy product from JW. However, I'm sure their view is I have about as much chance standing in a winner's circle as I do spending the night with Janine Turner. And they're right, of course.

Why? Is too much money going towards child support?

Back around 1980 IHRA had a rule that you could not display a decal from a company that was not posting. So it's been done before.

I think this would be a great idea...definately would help racers out and the companies that pay on the side.
