The guy driving looks kinda like Jamie Heineman (spelling?) from Mythbusters. Christmas tree.....BUSTED. All kidding aside, I hope the guy is alright and they don't ding him with the bill.

At Maple Grove, it was a corvette. Older one, I think in super street. Can't remember his real name, always called him gramps. Great guy, raced for years till then. Tom Goldman would remember!

The Wooden Shoe? was on the car

The Vette was Herman Terpstra's Wooden Shoe S/st car. ...It was suposedly an ex Bruce Larson car ..I don't know if he;s ever put it back together after that hit. ....Soon NHRA will bring its own concrete pier to protect its tree, like the one they used to have at Bowling Green! LOL! ....saw that chunk of concrete claim Neil Mahr's roadster way back in the Seventies at the old Sportsnationals !..........I think it also was the one Jim Oddey hit with his Opel. .....Sounds like a great project for someone to compile photos of, Blows Against the Empire would be a great title ! ....Tom

As far as I know we will not be asked to pay for it. I dont even know yet what thr cost of repairs will be. Only 1 LED light broke (thats why they cost so much to begin with), the electronics inside are probably still usable. The new center has already built by my sheet metal shop and powder coated and on Fed-ex to me, new sockets ordered. Should have it all back together for Phoenix.

Compulink
.
The left rear tire/wheel cam off the truck and he made a hard left turn right to the tree.
