I,ve stayed at a few Micro Tel's from time to time. Usally clean and reasonably priced.
You might want to go to a homepage such as AOL or Yahoo, the travel section, type in Southern Pines, NC for the motel listings. The listings usally have a feedback section with reviews posted from folks who have stayed there. Might give you some insight. |

I've stayed in a few, and they've usually been fairly new. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable.

I don't know if I should comment on this since I work at a Microtel, but I will say this; if the staff is well trained in giving customer satisfaction, meaning front desk, housekeeping, maint. and all mang. personel, then a Microtel can't be beat. Most of the new ones being built will include flat screen tv's, microwave, fridge, and coffee pot in every room, free local and long distance calls in the cont. US in all Microtels, free wi-fi , pool, either an execise or a meeting room, guest laundry, and many unique features other hotel chains do not offer. Check out the website microtelinn.com or call 1-800-771-7171. I have worked for this company on and off for 5 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I for one look forward to going to work because of the geat employee's that Microtel employ. Just a reminder to all you travelers out there, yes we do come to work for a paycheck, and we do know that you want to spend as little as possible, but PLEASE be kind to all hotel staff members at whatever hotel you stay at, and we will bend over and cater to all your wants and needs. A thank you goes a long way, and if you can talk to the manager or the asst., do so and give your comments about the staff. We do remember all the great guests and will treat you as a KING, and we remember all the bad guest and you will get the cold shoulder. Trust me! And tip your housekeeper, they do not make alot of money and a couple of bucks goes a long way. Most housekeepers are single moms struggling to make ends meet. If you stay at a hotel for 3 days, give at least 2 bucks a day, and I can almost promise your room will be the cleanest room there. Trust me I do clean rooms at my hotel, and if their is a tip in the room I give it to the housekeepers that need to keep there kids feed, clothed and a place to call home. So in concluson, Microtel good, all other hotels bad. STOCKERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick.

I stayed at the Microtel Inn in Athens, Ga. last year for the Southern Nationals; my room was clean, and comfortable with a microwave and refrigerator. The motel and grounds were well maintained and the staff was courteous and friendly. An earlier post gave a link to tripadvisor.com; I highly recommend checking that site for any trip related questions. I travel to 8 - 9 National events per year, and 3 - 4 Div.1 points races and National Opens per year and I don't make my hotel reservations until I check the reviews on tripadvisor.
