The reason i posted this is that most of us see how far stock has come, when back in the 60's they really were street cars with just a few things done. I think its refreshing to see a car that is still driveable be able to compete, go rounds, and even win in Stock. Especially in D/SA not B/FS.

They did tow the car to gainsville. It is a great running car. Looks more like a hot street car than a stocker as we know them. Jeremy is obviously a very good driver. If the car still has all of the street equipment on it that would make it a difficult car to go through the tear down process. Could you imagine having to pull a piston and rod out of that car. I had a 2004 corvette. You could barely find the motor from all of the wires hoses and other equipment under the hood.

Chad
Since you asked. My thoughts are that its needs HP applied to it just like those stinking CJ Mustangs that are underrated by Ford and NHRA. What is this world coming to? A street car that can run 8 tenths under the index by changing tires and the fuel. Indeed!!!! Just kidding and you can still buy me a beer at No Problem. RJ. |

September 1994 I drove from Phoenix to Denver by myself. I think it was another #1 qualifing time. Set the A/FS record @ 13.26 in the same vehicle, cylinder head / intake tear-down. Drove the car to the motel that night & lost 1st round the next morning with a quicker than record time. Then drove the car back home. It's a 14 hour drive each way. Had a NM DPS officer in his Mustang chase after me for two miles as I was doing 85 in the rain on the way home. He wasn't happy with my "put it in passing gear" next time response....
![]() Top that! But congradulations on the win, I guess that does top a record! ![]()

I can hear some Highway Patrol official now "We need them cobra jet cop cars to keep up with what the factories are putting on the street"
(with all of the officers grinning in the background ) An easy way to produce the minimum cars required. |

Hey Chad, I think it's great. So great in fact that I'm sizing up my CTS V for a roll bar this afternoon.

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the kind words. It was a great weekend for sure. After the Gators I will drain all the $12 a gallon VP fuel put the street tires back and drive this car on the street the rest of the year. I do tow it to the races in case something breaks, and the luxury of the RV is nice over a 3-5 day event.
I have spent alot of time listening to all you guys on how make a stocker fast by re-applying weight, rotating mass, suspension, etc. and I really appreciate how nice and helpfull everyone has been that I have met. I am truly humbled to listen to alot of you and the vast knowledge you guys have on how to squeeze every little HP and E.T. out of these cars. I really love the class for the challenges it presents and the science of how to make a certain combination work. Its alot more fun for me then my S/G car. The fact is that I am 2-4 tenths slower in my all out mode than any other D/SA that I meet in thier bracket mode, which I found out the hard way in Bradenton 2 weeks ago when strickland showed me how a D/SA really runs first round in our heads up match. I will do my best to get out of the other D/SA guys way and just get to footbrake bracket racing, which is what I love to do. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando.
