Being that I'm already over 1.2 under with a glide and 60's in the low 1.50's, going to a 3 speed would just ask for traction problems and add an extra shift. I know superstock is about going fast, but I'd rather be more consistent to win races. I feel the car is super competitive with the glide. I do have a 3 speed though on the shelf.

They don't run like they did in '55... LOL! Can you say "hi-stall"????

Makes me wonder how one would run wih a '53 Olds Dual Range hydro, like we had in the sedan deliveries in the '60s... Might need to change that 2.63:1 "2nd gear" out for something more like a 2.30:1.... The ratio drop from 2nd to 3rd (45% drop) was always a traumatic experience for the reciprocating assembly.

NHRA would never buy it, though.... 4 speeds instead of 3....

Thanks for your comments, Gene. Your car is fast... low 1.50s is killer for a small-engine 'glide car, I think! I can see your point; you really don't need a 3-speed...
