I know I am going to sound stupid for asking this but what does EOIC mean.

Alan,

When the Exhaust starts to open (EO), adjust the intake lash. When the Intake valve closes (IC), adjust the exhaust valve. Some people prefer firing order, others prefer EOIC. Either way works if you're consistent, although some people will swear that one or the other gained them mucho HP.

Question Re: sherman lifter help

Jerry, Do you adjust the exhaust valve when the intake just starts to close or when it is fully closed? I do the exhaust when the intake just starts to close, is this correct?

Thumbs up Re: sherman lifter help

Bob, thanks for the contact. How do these lifters compare to shubecks in a traditional hyd. flat tappet? Can you run the same seat pressure? Can you use the same set from cam to cam? Thanks for the info.

You can't run the super high rates and you can't change them from cam to cam. But they are cheaper.

Made 4 really good passes with the mustang 5.0 and after the fourth pass I heard a noise going through the finish line, sounded like a quick rev limiter bounce (but I had no rev limiter set that low) going through at 6500. Was making a bad noise driving up return road, I pulled the valve covers and noticed 5 roller rocker adjustment nuts had backed off almost completely. Tightened them back down but the car didn't run anything close to the previous 4 runs. Did I lose a lifter? Compression test passes and didn't see anything wrong with springs or pushrods when I pulled them out. Rockers weren't damaged, just loose.
