I'm doing Auto to 4 Speed conversion in my street/strip '79 Corvette. I'm installing AutoGear M22 Muncie trans. Would like to use Hurst Super Shifter instead of std. Vette Hurst Comp. Plus. I know Super shifter sits higher in relation to trans output centerline. I will probably have to cut larger tunnel hole for the Super shifter, not a problem. I guess my question is, how much higher is the Super shifter vs Comp. Plus & will it locate centered thru my stock console.
Thanks |

Mounting holes are 4 1/2" taller. The only way it will fit through the console hole is to take out the console, install the shifter and then throw the console over the shifter and figure out how to drive the car with that console where your feet should be.

Thanks Dwight....You say 4 1/2" taller,(vertical direction), you say it's alot farther over (horizontal direction) I wonder how much? I installed a Super shifter in a big block Nova I raced in the old days, I know I cut the tunnel out some toward the driverside, but it didn't seem like that much.
