Years ago Car Craft did a back to back at the track test of an 8 3/4 to a Dana 60 in an A-Body. No difference.

I have done this to two different cars and the A body car worked better with the Dana. The wagon we changed alot of stuff at once but its .07 quicker in 60 now than it was 2 weeks ago.

I won't speculate on weather it's legal for Stock, but I built an aluminum 8 3/4 for a friend 3 years ago for a dragster that runs lo 7's and it 's holding up very well. .....As to the Dana , we used to take the Dana out of my Uncles SS/AA Baracuda and put in a 12 bolt for heads up and record runs. It was a whopping .03 quicker than the Dana... The car slowed by .03 when a 9" was installed!. ....Tom
