Thanks for all the help guys........we took it to Auto Zone and they couldnt get a reading. They are not sure if their computer is the correct one for a Motor Home?

Lynn, if it's a GM powertrain, the same scan tool, or code reader that works on a truck will work on your motorhome. I program those all the time. GM computers is all I do, all day every day. The '96/'97 454" trucks use a slightly different computer than the 1998/2000. Tell the kid at Autozone to select 1997 as the year model and he may get in. I often see motorhomes called one year newer than the chassis actually is. Probably the chassis were still on hand from the previous year when they built the motorhome.

because it don't.

although some of the really early obd2 (like some of the guys are talking about) CAN be jumped but i don't remember which terminals to jump so the smoke don't get let out....96-up yer gonna need a scanner...

btw, you can pick up code readers pretty cheap, i guess, but i like a data stream...
