So I guess it's to discourage more racers from coming? Just turn it into a four day event....If anyone can make it happen Joe Sway can. I was at that Maple Grove race and everyone I was with had a good time.

Joe Sway is a smart businessman.I'm sure if he could twist Rain Man's arm the right way the field will open up and both races will go off, weather permitting.

Oh geez, I guess NO ONE is going to show up at the fall Atco divisional now. That's what they get for playing hooky.
And Ed, why are you complaining? You weren't even planning on running this race anyway.

tech is closed...no new entries...that is just the way it is...
It was the same case at the Virginia national a couple of years ago when it was a gauranteed monsoon. I didn't want to waste the time and fuel to go sit in the rain, just to have to go back the following weekend. But if I wasn't there the first time - EVEN THOUGH NO ELIMINATIONS WERE EVEN CLOSE TO HAVING BEEN RUN AND I HAD ALREADY PAID MY ENTRY FEE - I was not allowed to attend. I was told by several NHRA officials that it wasn't fair to the racers that attended and endured the hardship in week one. They were "rewarded" for their support. I thought it was silly then, and I think it's silly now, but thats the way they roll. PS: it doesn't matter that we never saw a ladder...welcome to random pairings... BTW, unlike Jack, I think 9:30am Sunday morning was a bit early to call it. I don't think they did anyone any favors. At that point, we had all wasted several days of our lives. Once they didn't bail on Saturday afternoon (based on forecast), I think it was imcumbent on them to stay till at least noon on Sunday. As it turns out, reports from locals state that it turned out to be a more than raceable day. And I'm sure there are good reasons, but there are NO opportunities from now till October? Lebanon is next week, and the next D1 event is Cecil at the the end of August. Thats almost two months, for crying out loud. If you couldn't guess, I won't be able to make the resceduled event thats being run almost FOUR months from now...I love divisionals... Lastly, thanks to Dave Ley for trying to give us a nice race again... |
