They don't do fuel check, or scales at d6 national opens. So there are no heads ups.

I hope no one overlooked the comment that points meets are Bracket races for EXPENSIVE Stock and SS cars. Next they will open to any car on a dial in so more entry money is avaiable.
Points meets are next. Then since there are so few CLASS cars (because entry limited) at many nationals they will be next.Less and Less attention to rules and tech. SAME income at the gate. |

I will go one step further and say Stock and Super Stock are expensive money brackets at NHRA National Events.

What if someone goes 1.40 under with no fuel check or weight check, hp on monday? Two years ago a 80 malibu wagon went 1.30 + under at Ca.open, with a 350 motor in his car, to get a grade point, They never opened is hood at the race, I taked to him after i saw it on Nitro Joe list, If he went 1.40 under, 305 would have got hp. with no tech, In division 5 we have scales and fuel check`s and heads up`s at the open`s, just like a points meet, Tom

What Tom Moock said is a little scary. I was inspected by one of the regular track guys who probably had no idea what is legal and what is not in stock. This has some real serious ramifications; show up with whatever you want, call it whatever you want and get somebody’s combo horsepower on Monday.

At DIV 7 Ntl Open @ Sac last year they let a half a dozen local bracket cars compete in the combo. No tech what so ever....just a car number and class sticker and you were good to go. Unfotunately, it left a bad taste for a lot of the guys. Many said they wouldn't come back....As you can see the turnout was poor this year.
The issue of these runs counting towards the AHFS was brought up.....Do they or don't they count? |

last year at the medicine hat nat open there was fuel check and scales, and nhra tech guys running the show, was no heads up but no duplicate class cars either. this year in ashcroft no fuel no scales, but all nhra tech guys on hand. ashcrofts scale looked pretty sketchy, either way i probably would have passed it by anyway. l
