Depends alot on the weather. If your car can't run a -1.00 second under though you will be taking a chance.IMO

I think -1.00 under will definately qualify for the 128 car field. On the other hand,1.00 OVER might make the cut too!

Thumbs down Re: Any guesses on what its gonna take to get into Indy this year?

They will all make it. There will not be enough cars to fill the field.

Jim and Hammer, this is what I was trying to imply in my first post. Things are much worse this year than last. We didn't have a full field at the Indy points meet and it is a sign of the current conditions. Now that NHRA has raised prices it should reflect in the car count. You have to be there no later than Wednsday night and hotel prices skyrocket starting Friday night. I say if you can show up and run -.500 you are in the field.

So you think there will not be 128 cars in stock, at Indy this year. I will bet anyone $100 that Stock has a min 128 cars. Less than 128 cars at indy give me a break you jack offs.

Smile Re: Any guesses on what its gonna take to get into Indy this year?

Back in around February, alot of the racers said that they weren't going to attend Indy because of the announcement of increased fees. Does anyone else think that racers, now that time has passed, still will not attend because of the NHRA increased fees? I myself, will not attend a Divisional points race until NHRA lowers the entry fee to at least where it was last year for the sportman racer. While the racer gets increases of the entry fee and insurance, the spectators are getting discounts on their tickets. Personaly I could care less if there are spectators attending or not. I know that spectators drive revenue for NHRA, but the revenue generated is not put towards the sportsman side of the race. The sportsman racer takes care of that himself. Doesn't anyone understand that the racer brings the show, not the spectator. Also, the spectator is the one who should be buying the insurance, they are the ones that are dangerous walking around. But, all in all, I'm in agreement that all military personel should get in free thoughout the whole event not just certain days.
