Would you like to line up behind a hanging 5 amber tree. Now that would be interesting on a windy day.It was bad enough at NY Nat'l Speedway with a 1 amber tree.

But Joe, you used to be a "MOPAR" guy. I seem to remember a yellow 1964 Max Wedge car.

Oh and add that Reimer to the list of potential suspects.............but there may be a statute of limitations for street racing 20+ years ago.........no worries all.

Might as well come out of the closet on this one. Tony Janes and Chuck Norton and I have known each other for at least 30 years. No,we didn't do illegal street racing as depicted by the episode of the TV show, although enough of it went on. Tony and I see each other every week or so and go out for Mexican food here in Glendora fairly often, and Chuck is the local guy to see for advice and help on engine building. He's way more of a rocket scientist than I will ever be.I got started racing at Irwindale in the mid '70's with my favorite hot rod, a red '62 Impala SS with a 409,4:88's, and a wide ratio Muncie 4 speed. The thing was too insanely fast to drive on the street, got 6 miles per gallon, and scared the liver out of several people I took for rides in it. When I first went to Irwindale, I decided that was the place to race. The street was for going to work, school, the store, and anyplace else. I never participated in any illegal stuff other than loading a race car to go to the drags out in the street or something like that. If I did that here, I would roll enough Glendora PD to fill a Winchell's Doughnut shop about instantly. We progressed from fun& grudge racing to ET brackets, then when Irwindale, Orange County and Riverside were gone,I progressed to Stock Eliminator, where I've played ever since. It's all been fun, and I've stayed out of trouble.
