Tear downs and repaired heads

How often do tear downs happen? Who gets torn down? If you break a valve and it bangs up the chamber and it has to be welded on will the techs let that go since it's not every cylender?

If possible take the head to your Division Tech Director and have him take a look at it and get a ruling. If it is acceptable, ask for the ruling in writing and carry it with you to the races. If it comes into question later you at least have some documentation to fall back on.
