Bruce,
Will you be racing at the Dutch? George and I are thinking about going and I would like to meet you as it seems that you are as passionate about sportsman drag racing as the best of us. Of course I will bring the popcorn, Jeff can bring his goodies, the fella that suggested the Italian beer (can't remember his name because somehow his post is missing, or maybe I dreamt up that one) can bring the beer, I think Dennis will go, maybe Jerry Maxwell, love to meet Jack as well, anyway if you go, that might just be enough to get the rest of us there- we will all have a grand ole time. Do you think you could get behind the wheel of the CJ? I am not kidding, you would absolutely love to drive this car. ANY one of you are welcome to come by our pit, ask anybody that knows me, at the track, I talk to everybody, maybe too much at times- sorry for that! Thanks, Jimmy

Jimmy,

I do plan to go to the Dutch. But as a spectator. I don't drink any booze but I'll take you up on the popcorn.

Cool Re: Kearney Ne, Open National Records

Maybe the time has come to classify stock and S/S by another means other than Factory, factored, or "Dart Board" HP per wt.???? They ALL seem bogus except for the ones that are not competitive. Cubic inches maybe? Add 1 1/2 times the cubes for a blower or turbo? Naaaaa, none of that would work either.

Move over Hemi Challenge and let the Fords have their own Challenge! If it took the Hemi's 30 or so years to run in the eights, I think that the Ford's will get into the eights in far less time and there will be alot more of them to run each other. Just think how much fun it will be watching all those cars gathered together and see who can out supercharge the next guy.

The problem as i see it is they are letting crate motor cars in traditional stock classes with bogus horsepower ratings. Do any of you think these are not crate motors? You can't walk in to a Ford or a Chrysler dealer and buy a car with one of these motors that is street legal. For all you guys that think the Mustangs are so bogus I happen to know of one Challenger that went 9.74 at 136 at B weight this weekend in Memphis. If my Math is right that's 1.80 under. It's obscene for these cars to be racing in stock eliminator.
