Default Re: Sorensen in Super Stock - Vegas

Ed,
Thanks for the toughtful reply to my post. And you have some valid points. Although it's been many, many years since I ran a national event(but plan on doing so next season) I can't really comment on whether or not inspections at teardowns at national events compare to Div. 4 teardowns and inspections by Wesley. I guess, as in any series, politics will come into play no matter what. I know it did when I crewed in the cup, Nationwide and truck series and may very well be part of the game in NHRA. I guess I will find out next year.
I also know that serious racers will always push the envelope(been that way since I was a kid at least) and that some teams/racers will spend an unbelievable amount of time and money to run really fast(always thought that was what racing was about). I have crewed the last two years on an ADRL PRO Nitrous(nitrous Pro Mod) car and it's unbelievable how much money and technology the top teams utilize. Our team won 1 ADRL National event(Houston) and runner-upped with a second team car at Memphis. If Mike decided to get out of the ADRL and go Stock or Super Stock racing I'm sure his stuff would be as fast as any because funding isn't a problem. I've always been told that knowing "how" to play the game is usually the best way to win at the game. Look at Bob Shaw(knows how to pick an economical and fast combo) or the Sorenson's(just plain fast and hard working) and they've both passed teardowns in the past. I guess when it comes down to it if you can get it past tech it must be legal and until you can prove it otherwise then it's a mute point. Either step up and play the game or go racing and quit the complaining. It's all about choices. JMT.
