Nice guy, wouldn't sell; "gonna restore it someday". If he had two nickels or more, it wasn't obvious. Over 10 years I dropped by and eventually made a final offer of $20K. But by now the sun had burnt the paint off and it was surface rust top to bottom. Still wouldn't sell. I wished him well and said it was my last trip.
Found out he died about a year later. His pot smokin' dead-beat son was going to sell it to a guy for $10K. Then somebody else stepped in and through $20K at him and he took the car home with him.
I'm sure $20K got the kid a lot of drugs and whores. I knew that car would never get restored by the old man. But at least the memory of 'Cuda days gone by kept the old guy happy, and that is worth something.
I'd agree with Ed, those cars in the barn will only see a restoration when the next of kin sells it for nickels on the dollar.
Like most of you I've been through the " I'm going to restore these old cars someday" gig only to watch them go to the crusher.
Tried to buy two 1964 ply's from an old man in Nashville, a sport fury with a 383 4sp and a belevedere with a 383 and 4sp. Five years later he passed and the cars were crushed by the city.

This guy needs to unload his stuff and help the sport.

Jeff that car wasn't up at 52 st. and Bell? My Satellite HP2 car I bought 10 years ago came from a old man that had a dark blue black top 440 6-pack shaker but don't remember being a 4 speed.
