Are you sure it's a '68 as they didn't start building the Swinger model until the '69 model year. Some folks think all two door hardtop Darts are Swingers, but they aren't. In '68 it would have to be a GTS to be a 340 car.

To answer your question, or at least part of it, I'm considering building a '69 340 Swinger for stock eliminator and in conversations with Chuck Beach, who runs a '69 340 Barracuda stocker, I've learned that the AVS carb is the bottleneck in the 340 combo for that year and that no one runs one successfully in super stock because the carb would be even more of an issue in power production. Having said that, if there is anyone who can make an AVS work it is Chuck.

The '68 GTS 340 has a factor of 11.62 which is SS/JA minimum weight 3091 + 170 =3261 or you can take weight out and run SS/IA or add weight for SS/KA.

The '69 Swinger 340 fits J also, down for I, up for K.
