Uhhhh...yeah thats so much cheaper for racers to implement.

So much easier to enforce

So much better for the valve spring companies

So much more convinient for the racer, so much easier for everyone to implment in a timley fashion.

**** why dont we start using restrictor plates like circle jerks do.

Sorry accross the board spec rule irk me off, I saw this in motorcycle racing, I also saw it abandoned

Thumbs down Re: Index Change

the only way this would be fair to everybody is to start from scratch with the HP. This system is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine?

The only people this really will hurt are the guys who could run -.30 or less! They have just relegated about 20% of the cars to being bracket racers! There will be less and less cars at Divisionals and National Events. Some people can't see what is happening. Jim

The only ones who'll be effected are those who are .3 under now, which I doubt is 20%.
I think there are very few combos that aren't able to go .3 under now.If so, then a h.p.
reduction request would be warranted and I would think be granted.
The big $$$$ guys will still have the biggest d$%ks in the arena, just like before.
Now that that's been done how about getting them to let the div. tech guys do their jobs
without outside interference.Maybe some semblance of fairness can be made of the
AHFS.

I may be one of those people who can't run the number. My car has not seen the track for nearly seventeen years and I have no idea where it will be this spring. Should it be the case that I can not run the number within my budget the car will be sold. I will never go bracket racing nor will I put it back on the street.

I agree I just got into racing last year I bought a new car and worked and spent my *** off to get 30 under and now I'm going bracket racing. I think nhra will have 5 or 19 less stockers and super stocker at every race in2010 who's got the money to build a faster engine and if your only running 30 under like me you can barely afford to race anyway anyone want to buy a stocker that can't run the number?

We have been fighting the basic same thing with IHRA for a while. Crate Motor indexs are alot softer than the regular stockers. I guess, the bottem line is the fast guys will still be fast, just have more room to be faster now.

Did anyone notice this line near the end?

"Runs of 1.250 or more under the index will be reviewed and adjusted Tuesday following the event. Runs at National Events, Divisional Events, and National Open Events, including those at altitude factored race tracks, are included in the 1.250-second-or-more-under analysis".

If I am reading this correctly, this means that a car at Altitude that runs -1.250 now gets HP the same as a car at Sea Level that runs -1.250? If so, I applaud NHRA for fixing this glaring disparity.
