I have an Optima red top now for 4 years,no problems.BUT during the off season I use a
Battery Tender on it and the marine battery I use in the trailer.The marine battery is now 6 years old and still fine.The fluid level does need to be kept after though.I also have a BT on my Dakota,which gets very little use in the off season.They cost about $50 on ebay, well worth the cost.
