Yes,63,as long as we keep shoe polish on the windows. And I agree with Travis about the young people in super fast street cars. One close to me is a mid 60s corvette that is streetable, street legal and runs mid high 6s-low 7s. Big engine lots a laughing gas.

I posted this to confirm that we pretty much agree that times change,no matter how hard us old timers try to hold on to the past.S/SS is changing, some say for the better some say for the worse. In the end we should just try to enjoy the time we have left trying to go some rounds, win a race, set a record,in spite of the way our sport is being manipulated.
Like the guy with the bald head standing on the box says: Let's race................................

I ran at Orange a few times early sixties. Injected buick in 50 ford owned by Ronnie Lepalm. also ran my roadster there in early eighties if my memory serves me right. Someone put togeter a sunday race trying to promote a new track for the northeast. I beilive Wally Roberts, Mike Fitts and Barry Rebero were also there. No traction compound just a great time and many memories. Any one remember Charleston and the seagulls? |
