So do you think a F250 or something similar would be able to tow a 24 or 28? This is gonna be all budget racing. So I'll be looking for truck with around $10k I know F350 can be expensive.
Question is would the 24footer fit a 2007 mustang gt?? Yes it would have no cabinets.. I'm thinking a 26footer would be nice but i have a hard time finding 26footers. Here is a photo of the car: http://projectrhyme.com/khracing/Pinks1small.jpg Now what about GVW?? 7,000 or 10,000? |

I'm a little disappointed in you Bob, Sounds like Tweaker is looking for a good quality 1 ton dually to purchase that would tow an enclosed trailer and you know how I've been trying to sell my 95 ext. cab C3500 for far less than what Tweaker is looking to pay. I can't believe you didn't try to help me out

I have a case of Miller Lite ready for Indy. I thought of the 150/250 thing, but sometimes you have to settle for what the budget can handle. Thought I'd take a shot.

I have a 28' extra-height trailer (fits one dragster, just reconfigured it so I can get two in there), and tow with a 2500 diesel pickup. Tows great.
If you look at the towing specs for most 3/4 vs. 1 tons you'll see that the 1 ton dually only gets you about 1000 lbs more towing capacity (on a tag trailer). I did a ton of research and ended up with the 2500, and I'm glad I did. If I was towing 5th or goose, I'd be at the 3500 in a heartbeat, but on the tag, the difference is minimal. And the extra set of wheels makes the dually a bear to park/maneuver as a daily driver. Of course, being a Ford guy, you'll want to convert all that to F250 and/or 350 ![]()

thanks everyone for the help and advice it really helps.
I prefer Ford but at the end of the day when the time comes it will come down to the best deal/price you know how it goes. So it seems like everyone says go for 28 lol that bumps up the cost :P What about GVW? 7000 or 10000? I could save some $ if its 7000. I also thought maybe a 26footer would be good but they seem hard to come by. im going to finish saving up and buy the tow vehicle first ![]() |

As far as GVW go 10,000 you can switch over to 16" wheels and tires (less problems) and you always end up hauling more than you thought you would. I do some traveling with mine, so I look at long term with both truck and trailer. |

Tweaker,i've been towing race stuff for 45 years, do yourself a favor, buy a crewcab dooooly. #1 safer. #2 safer. #3 when you get to your destination you haven't had the poop kicked out of you. Buy the biggest truck you can, you won't be disappointed.
