PINKS is a TEST AND TUNE ..
Are you in bed with PINKS or Rich?
Are you on a one man mission to bad mouth NHRA and us racers who race NHRA?
PINKS IS NOT DRAG RACING
Its a MONEY GRAB just like NHRA
At least you get a nice trophy with NHRA and sum cash
James, you are totally off the mark so I'll throw it back at you...Why are you kissing NHRA butt? Are you in bed with Tom Compton or NHRA? Have you ever run a PINKS event, let alone attend one? No I'm not in bed with anyone, only that this started with a simple and halfway intellectual email to Rich as a result of my positive experience 2 weeks ago. Yeah, I was skeptical with the original PINKS show, but warmed up once the All Out program replaced it. The competition makes total sense if you have half a brain. It also makes financial sense from a racers standpoint, especially if the sticker money that left NHRA instead comes back to PINKS. I could go to Indy with my stocker, spend $500 in entry and fees, win class, get a trophy, and chase the contingency sponsors for money the rest of the year. Oh, that's if I participate at least 5 LODRS events to even qualify to spend my $500. Or, I could enter a PINKS event, pay $60 entry, get a free shirt and some other stuff, be part of the main attraction, have a chance to be on TV, compete for a chance to run for $10k, and have a little fun while I'm at it. Did I mention grade points aren't necessary? Why not help them help us take it to the next level? If you got a better idea or plan, by all means put it on the table. Otherwise go spew your criticizing bile on another thread.

Jeeezzz Pothole....you keep building your cars all wrong. First you put the slicks on the wrong end, then you forget to cut the doors out on your new one.

Too bad you couldn't adapt an Opel body with working doors. Then Allyn Armstrong wouldn't have it so easy LOL!!!!!!

Two years ago I signed up for the race at Infineon. I was on the waiting list and got a call from them a week prior to me deploying overseas with the military. I ended up having to let my slot go, and was out the money. This year, I bought a slot in Jan. for Infineon again for the Sept event. It looks as though I will not be able to make this event either due to another deployment. I did not specify that my car was a Stocker, but am entered. Hopefully things will change, and I will be able to attend. More than likely, I will be out the $60 again though.

The no refund policy is a joke, and the fact that you can't give your ticket away should be addressed. If I can't use the ticket I paid for, I should either be able to get my money back, or have the right to transfer it to someone else. It isn't like they don't have someone waiting in line to take the slot. For this reason, I will not enter again.
Hey Shawn....don't give up too fast dude!!! Yeah I totally agree on the pre-entry slots and transfer issue. I almost didn't make it myself, and a total hassle if I wanted to transfer. I still need to say something to them about it. I found the PINKS crew very fair but very reasonable to work with. The guy lined up behind me at the gate wasn't pre-entered. Although not so smart traveling as far as he did and not being pre-entered, because of several no-shows they worked him in. I really hope you can run on of these events, it's the most fun I've ever had racing, and the best time since my dad ran during the OCIR days.

Hey Bobby (Baker that is LOL!!), you certainly aren't hurting anything from where I'm standing, only helping!!!! Trust me I need all I can get here if this is going to get off the ground.

I don't want to step on Gary's thread but he got my curiosity on this subject so I called Rich Christensen and talked to him about this. From what I understand he is wanting to know how much interest there would be in doing an All Out show with Stock and Super Stock.
I for one think it would be a great way to promote and showcase S/SS. Plus you get a chance to win some big money. I also think the stands would be full and you would see some awesome competition and of course wheelies. He also mentioned that it would take between 400 and 500 entries to do a show and he would like it to be at a track in Texas. Of course this is my opinion but I think it would be the greatest show on earth and people would be able to see some awesome cars. So what do you guys think? Do you think there would be enough interest? This would include NHRA and IHRA cars.

Not lately but still have the car if that counts. Even worse it's a stick car LOL!! Haven't raced it since last year but plan on the IHRA/SSSSA ProAm next month. I simply can't afford chasing grade points just so I can enter NHRA Full Throttle events, at least for the moment.

I know the feeling. Sold the Camaro last year to build a stocker. Got tired of all the junk cars grudge racing with very unexperienced drivers. The K car I am building now is and 85 Monte Carlo SS 305. Cant wait to have it finished. The last car we built for stock was a 1996 Firebird but I missed the carburator too much.

So, since you run "all out", we would run off the indexes with no break out?

If so, I'm in. That would make one less thing I could screw up.

Hmmm, still have to let go of that button on time.

I would also agree to run off index so long as there is a CIC involved. However with their (PINKS) current format I dont think that is what they are looking for. Makes it impossible to compete in a bunch of classes.
