Some stuff can be cleared up with an e mail not the court of public opinion. I don't know Calvert personally, but I am pretty sure he is easy to get ahold of if you really want to know something. Not defending NHRA's process for their other problems at the top, but it doesn't appear as if there was a conspiracy theory in this case.

Wheelie Bars need to be addressed, if Bruce approved them why are they not legal in div 3? There are a bunch of cars using them so whats the deal, I have not seen any announcement saying they are not legal.

Here are some pictures of the Fairlane at Pomona. I wish I had a better shot of how the bars are attached, but they float on their mountings and look to act as a lever and push down on the axle.

Took John Irvings advice and called Mike Rice but have not heard back. I also called John Calvert. I started by apologizing for even questioning the car swap. Told John I hoped he got no negative feedback about this and I guessed next time I would not bother questioning when I felt something didn't seem right. We talked for over 1/2 hour on that topic and 4-speeds to Cobra Jets to Clutchless transmissions. Without me asking John said I could post any part of our discussion but all I will say is he is a true gentleman and he did exactly what I would have done and exactly what he should have done. He went to the event director and asked if he could make the swap. He was told yes and hopes that the right call was made. John was concerned that some might think he pulled a fast one but I am sure after talking to him his intent was just to race but only if it was a correct call and he was told it was.
