Im gonna say this, you have apparently not read a lot of legal contracts by Owners who have no regard for stupid things or trivial things, its not a lack of regard for the contract its a "chop" as it were in many cases a way of making that document and what it represents their "own".

Bill Simpson is not a Joker, he is a businessman and maybe someone under him made some bad decisions, I hope it pans out to see that he had no knowledge or part.

You ought to see some of my Dads legal contracts.

His last , his will (and I have asked him to revise it with your reasons but to no avail)

"My ashes to be scattered over a suitable body of water (NOT In a Toilet !)"

Yeah....sometimes a serious legal document NEEDS some levity.

I've seen a lot of contracts, as a retired Fortune 500 exec, and nobody I ever wanted to do business with showed this kind of gallows humor.

... being easily confused by any legal document....I have to wonder, does this include re certified belts? I would imagine so, but don't want to take anything for granted. (they were manufactured '07, recert 4 weeks ago)

As for the signature, this may be this person's usual signature. Dealing with rock stars and artists for 30 years, I've seen all kinds of odd legal signatures. No disrespect for the legal system is intended, they are just the person' attempt at being original.

As for my 2 cent opinion, judging someone harshly because of a signature is pretty darn shallow.

Agreed. But when it follows a company that has a track record of shaky stuff, it just adds fuel. They had a bunch of suits recalled and found faulty a little more than a year ago. They didn't handle that well at all, with lots of confusion and noise for their customers. Now it turns out they're skimping making counterfeit products, thumbing their noses at the certifying authority. They didn't handle it well, or it wouldn't have gone this far with lawsuits and decertification. And when they come to a partial resolution, the person in charge of the company basically thumbs their nose again, making a joke of the resolution.

We're talking about safety products here, messing with people's lives. It is the LAST place people should be doing any of the above: making people question the product, skirting the certification process, and making light of the issue. I can't imagine spending a dime with them ever.
