We let the car sit over winter. This was the first time out since it raced at the piedmont thanksgiving race last year. We assumed everything was ok since they had the proof they asked for the prior year. A friend asked if he could race the car. I didn't care as I'm not racing this year. My brother has to deal with both of his sons racing Jr. Dragsters. Which is a full time job and impossible to race a car on your own while taking care of 2 jr's. The car will just sit most of the year till the oldest nephew can drive. Considering I'm probably a foot taller than him, will be a fun shifter "mod". I'm sure if we show up with a 66-67 bucket seats, we'll have a huge argument at the track with the skirt wearing tampon racer that complained in the first place.

People mention the "spirit of the class" however that spirit has been molested beyond belief for over 20 years. I can't believe this is even an argument. Who cares so long as the seat retains its original mounting point and is same manufacturer. By the way if you want to keep the "spirit of the class" then modifying a bench seat certainly would be out as the "spirit of the class" calls for customizing limited to paint only. There are many rules that most current stockers bend beyond the point of acceptance and would make them illegal. So if you are going to complain about mine be prepared for me to make sure you suffer as much as I with your own. Always be careful what you wish for.

Wow! That's a real nice "spirit of the class".

My statement was not a threat. It was intended for someone who had sent me a private message telling me that they would make sure I was thrown out if I did not run the correct seats. If someone is willing to protest me and force me out of a race because of fear that a seat will somehow allow me to win a race then I have the same right to protest them. Everyone is willing to argue over a seat issue and make direct comments to me however when the shoe falls on the opposite foot people are offended. If I have anything to say to anyone directly trust me I will say it. The person who sent the message knows who he is however I am more of a man than to post his idiotic comments in public.

The racers that get it…..get it.

The racers that don't get it, don't get it...now or ever.

Bob

PS:
Why don't we split the topics on this forum so that racers that are posting with information that's pertinent to the IHRA ONLY can post there and people that are posting with information that is pertinent to the NHRA ONLY can post in their section?

That way when the sanctioning bodies (IHRA or NHRA) view this forum they will understand the difference in the needs and wants of their racers.

Why ? This rule should be the same in both sanctions.

Floyd,

I'm not complaining about anything. I don't know you, and have never seen your car. Obviously, having correct seats means a lot to many racers on this forum. Just because Stock has changed over the last 30 years (along with every since other racing class in existence) doesn't give you the right to make up rules as you go.
