hemicop,
I can remember (1969/1970), guys were selling the 63' and 64' Dodge Max-wedge cars, because they were not pretty, at the track. Drag-strip racers sold them fairly cheap to street-racers, who of course pounded them 'Unmerciful', till there was nothing left...AHHHH! If they only knew ![]() Paul |

I have a whole website about the race car AMXs, especially the Hurst built 1969 Super Stock AMX, Check here and click on the "visit" link at the bottom:
www.superstockamx.com The S & K car is car #19 on page 5, John D'Andreas non Hurst car is on page 6. I have been researching these cars for 30 years and would love to correspond with anyone with more info. thanks |

Tom,
I sent you a Private Message on the Yonkers Garaged S/S car, originally from south New Jersey. Still searching for Delmar Delaware racing photo's to confirm. Also, the Flemington Rambler sponsored AMX was at Dover for a big S/S event back in the day. And Arnie Goldberg's B/MP car (from Official Auto Parts, Yonkers). Arnie's Javelin 'The American Rat' was a runner. Man that car was light. Also, a true S/S car ended up at Fink's Car Sales (AMC/Jeep/I.H. Scout) in Mahopac, NY (1974). Trying to find the details. The head mechanic from Fink bought it, (second or third owner). Like pulling teeth. Paul |

Bunny Hop,
The 68' Mustang was a converted 68' S/S car. An ATI transmission equipped car. It was designed for Match-Racing (Show Car). Not really a legal SS/EA car. May have been a 'FE' 427 with twin-carbed high-riser. She was friends with the Brooklyn-crew, when they went to Cecil County and Capitol. Came to Dover with red-Mustang (bubble-hood), and John Lyles I think had the Hemi GTX. Should have been late-summer 68'? PC |
